The ApeCoin Community has voted on a proposal that suggested the creation of a new NFT series, rejecting the idea. ApeCoin Armory Club and Ape Coin Pet Club were the two NFT collections.



The ApeCoin DAO has rejected a proposal that would have introduced two new NFT collections. The two collections are Ape Coin Armory Club and Ape Coin Pet Club, which were designed to have 20,000 NFTs each. 83.95% of the voters rejected the proposal, with 10.01% of the community in favor of it. The NFTs would have been handed out to the crypto community for free, with the overall cost estimated at $168,000.

The multi-link nature of the NFT collections meant that it could have been linked to other NFT and metaverse projects, like Otherside, Decentraland, and The Sandbox. One such possibility, which the proposal hints at, is that the NFTs could have appeared in the 3D worlds of other metaverse projects.

The full proposal showcased images of the NFTs, with the ape logo appearing on a shield. There were also images of the pets that would have formed the Ape Coin Pet Club. The proposal claims that all of the NFTs from both collections “are unique in their own way some with more rare features.”



ApeCoin Team’s Otherside Second Trip Looked Like a Hit



Meanwhile, Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club, recently announced the Otherside Second Trip event captains. These captains are Jimmy Wong, Brycent, Lowbellie, and Cordell Broadus, and they led four separate teams.

Second Trip is a virtual event where 10,000 hodlers of its Otherdeeds NFTs will test the Otherside metaverse experience. The event seemed to have been successful, with over 7,200 concurrent players at one point.



Yuga Labs’ Bitcoin NFTs a Success



NFTs still seem to have a strong pull on investors, with Bitcoin NFTs especially taking off. Yuga Labs recently auctioned its first Bitcoin-based NFT collection, raking in $16.5 million in just 24 hours. The highest bidder paid over 7 BTC for one of the assets in the Bitcoin Ordinal collection called TwelveFold.



NFTs are also growing in the mainstream world, with Amazon potentially releasing its own NFTs. Amazon Web Services has hinted at its foray into the space by announcing a collaboration with Ava Labs.

ApeCoin Community Rejects Proposal for Two New NFT Collection Series

Following the Arbitrum token airdrop, ARB has become a top 40 cryptocurrency as it currently holds the 37th largest market valuation out of more than 23,000 listed digital currencies. Currently, there is a circulating supply of 1,275,000,000 ARB, and the Arbitrum Foundation’s DAO Treasury holds 3.52 million or 35.27% of the airdropped supply. Over the past day’s trading sessions, ARB has decreased by 9.8% against the U.S. dollar.
Top Ten ARB Addresses Hold 94.41% of Current Circulating Supply
According to statistics recorded on Saturday, March 25, 2023, Arbitrum’s native governance token, ARB, is now the 37th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The governance token for the layer two Ethereum scaling project has a larger market valuation than Optimism’s governance token, OP, which is the 66th largest by market capitalization on Saturday.
ARB’s overall market valuation is $1.58 billion, and 24-hour trading statistics show a range from $1.19 to $1.39 per unit of ARB over the last day. Data from Dune Analytics indicates that 968.71 million of the 1.275 billion ARB tokens have been claimed so far, accounting for 83.4% of the claimable tokens on March 25.

Currently, there are 247,700 unique ARB holders, and the top ten addresses hold 94.41% of the ARB in circulation. The Arbitrum Foundation’s DAO Treasury holds roughly 3.52 million ARB, and the second-largest address holds 2.69 million ARB.
Exchanges that hold a significant amount of ARB include Bybit, Kucoin, Mexc Global, and Bitget, as all four exchanges have addresses within the top 25 largest ARB holders. Two days ago, on March 23, ARB reached both an all-time high and an all-time low on the same day.

The price today is 89% lower than the recorded all-time high of $11.80 per unit and 12.9% higher than the all-time low of $1.10 per ARB. The trade volume of ARB has increased significantly over the last two days, with $1.738 billion in ARB trades settled during the last 24 hours.
The top five most active cryptocurrency exchanges in terms of ARB trade volume include Binance, Bitget, Okx, Uniswap (Arbitrum version), and Gate.io.

Arbitrum’s Governance Token ARB Ranks Within Top 40 Market Capitalizations Following Airdrop

Onyx DAO and ApeSwap Celebrate Arbitrum Airdrop with ARB Liquidity Farms, Reward Pools


The price of Arbitrum’s ARB governance token peaked at $11.6446 on the crypto exchange KuCoin following an airdrop of 1.1 billion ARB to 625,000 wallets.



The spot trading volume of ARB in the last 24 hours is $388 million. In addition to KuCoin, it is available on Bybit and Bitget.



Arbitrum Rollup Usage Spiked Before ARB Airdrop



At press time, the price of ARB was roughly $1.3100. It is expected to be volatile for most of March 23, 2023.

In anticipation of the upgrade, transaction activity on Arbitrum increased to a new record of $1,312,052 on March 22, 2023.



According to Henrystats’ Dune Analytics Dashboard, Arbitrum acquired almost half a million new users in two weeks, which took the user base to more than three million.

Earlier this month, the Arbitrum Foundation announced it would airdrop 10 billion ARB tokens to users who bridged funds onto Arbitrum One or Nova or engaged in transactions meeting or exceeding certain thresholds on each network.



Arbitrum’s One and Nova networks are optimistic rollups on Ethereum that bundle and compress transactions from a sequencer and post the information on the main chain as call data. Optimistic rollups assume all transactions are valid without computation. Challengers can use fraud proofs to question the validity of transactions.



ARB tokens enable holders to upgrade Arbitrum’s Nova and One network as the layer-two solution progresses toward greater decentralization. Arbitrum was founded by former White House CTO Ed Felten and two Princeton grad students.



Recipients include investors, DAOs on Arbitrum, Arbitrum’s DAO treasury, present and future team members, and individual wallets.



Notable Airdrops in 2023



Crypto projects like Arbitrum use airdrops to drive interest and incentivize users to invest in the platform.



Users providing liquidity to PancakeSwap V3, a decentralized exchange on the BNB Chain, started receiving $135,000 worth of the CAKE token from March 5, 2023. CAKE can be staked to earn rewards on PancakeSwap, amongst other things.



Also on BNB Chain is Space ID, a platform for registering, managing, and trading Web 3 identities. The project airdropped 47,600,00 ID tokens to early users who held a .bnb or .arb domain by 2 p.m. UTC on March 10, 2023.



Cross-chain tech aggregator Rubic will airdrop $45,000 worth of RBC, BOBA, & SIS tokens on April 2, 2023, to users who claim Galxe NFTs.



To qualify, users must follow the Rubic x Symbiosis x Boba NFT page, Boba, Rubic, and Symbiosis on Twitter, complete cross-chain swaps worth $10 to Boba ETH, and like and retweet the airdrop announcement.

Arbitrum (ARB) Airdrop Sees ARB Trading Volume Top $388M Within the First Hour

Sushi, the Web3 exchange that pivoted into a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), is seeking to organize a legal defense fund. If approved, the proposal, which already is available for voting, will put $3 million USDT as part of a fund to defend itself from legal actions against the organization and its members. The organization disclosed it had recently received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Sushi DAO Presents Proposal to Establish Legal Defense Fund
Sushi DAO, a Web3 exchange and staking platform, is seeking support to establish a legal defense fund in order to effectively take on legal cases that are already coming its way. The proposal, which is currently being approved with the support of 75% of the vote at the time of writing, would allow the organization to make use of $3 million USDT to help its maintainers to defend from demands and legal cases.
If approved, the fund would come from Kanpai, which is part of the treasury of the DAO, in 50%. The other 50% would be deducted from the Sushi fees and from the reserve destined for giving grants. If depleted, the organization would have to refund the initiative with $1 million USDT more until the end of the legal case.

Undisclosed SEC Subpoena Received
Jared Gray, head chef and main maintainer of the Sushi DAO, announced that he had received a subpoena from the U.S. SEC, but did not disclose the nature of the case the organization is facing. When questioned on the issue, Gray stated:

Unfortunately, I cannot speak publicly more than what was disclosed in the post, which is standard. Many DAOs will need or have implemented Legal Defense Funds for contributors.

Sushi follows in the footsteps of Makerdao, which also established a legal fund for covering similar expenses in December, with coverage of up to 5 million DAI. However, Makerdao’s proposal is more specific and includes definitions for beneficiaries and claims, as well as periods to make payments and determine eligibility for these protections.
This is not the first time that a U.S. government organization exerts legal action against a DAO. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) already did it back in September, alleging Ooki DAO had illegally offered trading services to U.S. citizens without having registered as a Designated Contract Market (DCM). The Ooki DAO case is still ongoing.
